    This Privacy Policy applies to the entire seedtoinvest.com website — including its articles, calculators, and other tools — as well as the “Advanced Budget Tracker” web app (budgetapp.seedtoinvest.com) and iOS app, and “The Wealth Trail” game (wealthtrail.seedtoinvest.com) and iOS app, all operated by Seed to Invest, LLC (“Seed to Invest,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) (together, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect across the Services, how we use it, and the choices you have.

    Information We Collect

    seedtoinvest.com (general site)

    Analytics. We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, general location (city/country level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

    Contact / form submissions. If you submit a form on the site, we collect whatever information that form asks for (such as your name and email address) in order to respond to you. Submissions are checked by Akismet for spam before reaching us.

    Cookies. The site uses cookies for basic functionality and for the analytics described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not work as well if you do.

    The site’s interactive tools — including the compound growth / retirement spending calculator and the Net Worth Calculator — run entirely in your own browser. Anything you enter into them (income, balances, holdings, etc.) stays on your device; it is never sent to us or stored anywhere. Outside of what’s listed above, we don’t collect any other data on the general site.

    Advanced Budget Tracker (web and iOS)

    Advanced Budget Tracker is built around a shared family account rather than individual user profiles. When you use it, we collect:

    Account credentials. A family name/ID and password you choose, used to create and log in to your account. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase; we do not store your password in plain text — Firebase stores it in encrypted form and we never see it directly.

    Budget data you enter. Spending categories, budgeted amounts, transactions you log (date, amount, category, and any notes you add), currency preference, and any Savings or Investment Goals you set up. This data is stored in Google Firestore (part of Firebase) and is synced across your devices so every member of your family sees the same, up-to-date budget.

    We do not require your real name, email address, or any government ID to use Advanced Budget Tracker — the family name you choose is entirely up to you.

    The Wealth Trail (web and iOS app)

    The Wealth Trail is an educational life-simulation game, playable at wealthtrail.seedtoinvest.com or as a companion iOS app. No account, login, real name, or email address is required to play. All game progress, choices, and results are stored only on your own device — in your browser’s local storage on the web version, or in the app’s local storage on iOS — and are never sent to or stored on our servers.

    If you use the game’s share buttons, that simply opens your own device’s Mail, Messages, or social apps (such as X, Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok) with a pre-filled message; we don’t see or receive anything from that action, and those apps’ own privacy policies govern whatever you choose to post there.

    How We Use Information

    • To provide, maintain, and sync Advanced Budget Tracker across your devices.
    • To understand overall site usage and improve the Services.
    • To respond to messages you send us.
    • To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and technical problems.

    We do not sell your information, and we do not use your budget or transaction data for advertising.

    Who We Share Information With

    We use the following service providers to operate the Services. Each processes data on our behalf and under their own privacy and security practices:

    • Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore database) — stores your Advanced Budget Tracker account credentials and budget data, and keeps it in sync across devices.
    • Netlify — hosts the web versions of Advanced Budget Tracker and The Wealth Trail.
    • Google Site Kit / Google Analytics — website analytics, as described above.
    • WPForms and Akismet — handle and spam-filter contact form submissions on the site.

    We do not otherwise share, rent, or sell your personal information to third parties, except where required by law.

    Data Retention and Deletion

    You can permanently delete your family’s Advanced Budget Tracker account at any time from within the app — the web app and the iOS app both have a “Delete Account” option that removes every transaction, every category, every goal, and the account login itself. This cannot be undone.

    To help keep old, unused accounts from lingering indefinitely, any family account that has not been used in 365 days is automatically deleted on the same basis — every transaction, category, goal, and the login itself. If you plan to stop using the app for an extended period but want to keep your account, simply open and log in to the app at least once within any 365-day window.

    The Wealth Trail doesn’t use an account system at all, so there’s nothing on our end to retain or delete. Your in-game progress lives only in your browser’s local storage or your device’s app storage — you can clear it at any time by clearing that browser’s site data, or by deleting and reinstalling the app.

    Children’s Privacy

    None of the Services, including The Wealth Trail, are directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Wealth Trail itself collects no personal information at all — there’s no account, login, or data sent to our servers — but it does include financial storylines (job loss, divorce, debt, market downturns, and similar) written for a general audience rather than young children, and parents of younger players should use their own judgment about whether the game is a good fit. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information through the Services, please contact us so we can delete it.

    Your Choices

    • You can review and edit your budget data at any time within Advanced Budget Tracker.
    • You can delete your Advanced Budget Tracker account at any time within the app (see above).
    • You can clear your Wealth Trail progress at any time by clearing your browser’s site data or reinstalling the app — there’s no account to manage.
    • You can decline non-essential cookies in your browser.

    Changes to This Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
